Middletown Colts Youth Football and Cheer

2025 Registration/Seaon FAQ's

How do I register for the 2025 season?

Register your athlete for the 2025 season at www.middletowncolts.com

When does registration close?

The last day to register for the 2024 season is May 25, 2025.

In what division should I register my athlete?

Use the table below to determine division eligibility. If your athlete meets the criteria in two different divisions, you must register your athlete in the higher division. For example, if your athlete is 11 years old on 07/24/25 but will be in the 4th grade for the 25/26 school year, you must register your athlete for the JV division; they are not eligible for PW.

Do you offer any discounts?

An Early Bird discount of $25 is available through 4/15/25.

Do you offer a payment plan?

Yes. You will have an option to enroll in a payment plan during the check-out process. Payment plans are per athlete. If you enroll in a payment plan, the payment will be automatically charged to your card on the payment date. There is a service fee of $3.00 for each payment in addition to the registration price.

Do you have any fundraisers to help with the cost?

Yes. The Colts are organizing several fundraisers to help offset program costs. We would love to have your help. If you are interested in helping with fundraising, please contact our Fundraiser Director. In addition to organized fundraisers, we have put together a Pick a Date to Donate calendar. The Pick a Date to Donate fundraiser is for your personal use.

Do I have to purchase a uniform/practice gear package?

Yes. This year, all athletes must purchase a uniform/practice gear package.

Since I am purchasing the uniform/gear, does that mean it’s mine to keep?

Yes. Any items that you purchase are yours to keep.

Is the uniform/practice gear the same for all football divisions?

Yes. The uniform/practice gear is the same for all football divisions.

What is included in the football uniform/practice gear package?

The football uniform/practice gear package includes the following: personalized jersey (new), integrated game pants (used), two pairs of socks, decorated practice jersey (new), and integrated practice pants (used). This year only—because they are in good condition—we have decided to include last year’s practice pants in the uniform/practice gear package. Including these used items instead of new items significantly reduces the uniform/practice gear package price.

Will my athlete be able to use the football uniform/practice gear for more than one year?

Most likely. The uniform and practice gear have quite a bit of stretch. As long as the items fit properly, are in good condition, and the jersey number is “available,” athletes can use the gear for more than one year.

How do I know if the football uniform/practice gear fits properly, is in good condition, and the jersey number is available?

All athletes must attend a football gear fitting session. Uniforms and practice gear are considered in good condition if the items fit and are free of tears and stains. An athlete that returns to the same team has jersey number priority. If your athlete is moving up a division, and their number is NOT already assigned to a returning athlete on the team, your athlete may reuse their jersey assuming it fits and is in good condition); otherwise, you must purchase a new jersey. The Colts administration determines jersey number availability.

I have a football jersey from last year that will work for this season. Do I really need to buy another jersey?

No.  If your previous jersey still fits and is in good condition you can wear it again you 2025 season.  We do require an inspection of your jesery at one of our gear fittings.

Are the uniforms the same for all cheer divisions?

No. The varsity cheer division will have a different uniform than PW and JV. All three divisions will have the same warmup pant and jacket.

What does the cheer uniform package include?

The package includes the following: shell, skirt, half-top, briefs, two bows, socks, personalized warmup jacket and pants, cheer shoes, and a personalized cheer bag. The PW and JV uniform package includes the following: half-top, briefs, two bows, socks, personalized warmup jacket and pants, cheer shoes, and a personalized cheer bag. PW and JV cheer will use last year’s uniform (shell and skirt) and return the uniform to the Colts at the end of the season.

What if I don’t want the cheer shoes or cheer bag?

You do not have to order the cheer shoes or cheer bag. If you choose not to order these items, the price will be deducted from your registration fee.

Will the cheer uniform fit my athlete for more than one year?

Most likely. The intent is to slightly size-up the uniform so that it will fit for more than one year.

How do I know what size uniform my cheer athlete needs?

All cheerleaders must attend a cheer uniform fitting session. Parents and coaches together will agree on a uniform size.

Will I need to buy a complete uniform/practice gear package every year?

No. Moving forward, you will only purchase the items that you need.

What else does my athlete need for the season?

Football athletes are responsible for supplying their own cleats (molded) and mouthpieces. Cheer athletes are responsible for supplying their own cheer shoes if they do not order the shoes included in the uniform package.

When are the uniform/gear fitting sessions?

The time and location of the uniform/gear fitting sessions are TBA.  Please check Facebook or our website.  www.middletowncolts.com

Should my athlete attend a fitting session if they are not yet registered?

Yes. All athletes MUST attend one gear fitting session. Athletes do not need to be registered before attending a gear fitting session. Please have your athlete attend the session even if you are undecided about registering for the season.
